The future’s bright, the future’s online

This article from the Sydney Morning Herald talks about the future of online retailing in Australia.

Having recently made the transition from London to Sydney, I’ve been a little surprised by the lack of shopping done over the internet in Australia, compared to the UK.

But as this article suggests, all this is about to change.

The paragraph that particularly caught my attention was this one:

“But what are we buying on the internet? In terms of product group the fashion is, well, fashion – it’s the third-biggest category but growing at the eye-popping rate of 230 per cent a year in volume.”

Fashion and jewellery are closely linked (although I can’t say for sure whether they were in this survey): but given the StyleRocks pricepoints, which is competitive with many fashion labels, this bodes well for StyleRocks!
