Earrings for a Spanish senorita

I saw that Astley Clarke, a UK jewellery company, has recently released a number of collections inspired by travel.

As you may remember from this earlier post, I love the concept of your jewellery being a reflection of places you’ve been, and sights that have inspired you.

In Astley Clarke’s new range is this pair of earrings:

These earrings are made out of 14ct gold and blue gold stone beads – not expensive materials as far as jewellery goes, but very effective in their appearance.

When I saw them, I was immediately reminded of the Alhambra, in Granada in Spain. Perhaps no coincidence, as they were designed by a Spanish jeweller, Miguel Ases. The pattern of the earrings made me think of the intricate patterns found on the walls and floors of the Alhambra.

If you’ve been to Spain, do these earrings match your perception of that country?
