A different type of StyleRocks customer

When I initially conceived the StyleRocks idea, the ideal StyleRocks customer was called Lauren, let’s say. Aged 28-29, female, with reasonable disposable income – certainly enough to eat out once a week and enjoy some shopping. She reads Grazia and Madison magazines to get her style ideas. She likes to mix her labels with her high street so she can get the look for less. She’s at that age and stage of her life where all friends are getting engaged, married or having children so she’s constant looking for jewellery as a gift. Being able to personalise a piece of jewellery for a friend in recognition of their big day, or to celebrate their baby’s arrival is invaluable to her. Lauren’s favourite StyleRocks items are a personalised heart pendant or an engraved bangle.

Then, as the business unfolded, it emerged that StyleRocks had 2 more key audiences: the men’s market – any man looking for jewellery; not only for themselves in the forms of men’s rings or cufflinks, but also to design jewellery for the women in their lives. Quick, easy, convenient – and what better then being able to hand over a beautifully packaged box and say ‘Darling, I designed this for you?’

The bridal market is also another key audience for StyleRocks: not only are you able to design his and hers wedding rings, you can also create eternity rings for her. But wait, there’s more! You can create jewellery for the bridesmaids to match their dresses and cufflinks for the groomsmen too. And there are is a pearl jewellery collection too: bracelets, pendants and necklaces – perfect for those relatives. In short, StyleRocks is your one-stop bridal jewellery shop!

However in recent months, we’ve discovered we have another kind of audience and that is the corporate market. Rather than sourcing wine, hampers or pens to give to clients or even staff, customised jewellery makes an ideal gift. We’ve just delivered a large order for a division of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, who ordered both cufflinks and bangles inspired with a word in their motto – ‘Inspire’ – as well as a number of necklaces which read ‘Inspire’ – see the picture below.

Because they ordered in big quantities, we were able to negotiate a better price. And they were delighted in being able to create something that was relevant and meaningful to their gift recipients – and that would actually be worn.

Working with them to produce the jewellery was not only extremely satisfying but fun as well! Both parties really enjoyed the process and the result was lots and lots of beautifully packaged StyleRocks boxes with lots and lots of beautiful jewellery! Long may the partnership continue!
